Day 1
Lima arrival
Welcome to Peru! Lima is one of the most significant and modern cities in South America. It was founded in 1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Upon landing in Lima, you will proceed through Immigration and Baggage Claim. Proceed through Customs, where our representative will be holding a sign bearing your name. Our representative will assist you with your luggage and your hotel transfer from the airport.
You will receive a welcome package detailing your itinerary, transportation, and emergency contact information. A vehicle and driver will transport you to the hotel of your choice.
Day 2
Lima city tour

Take pleasure in Lima’s exquisite gourmet restaurants, historic sites, and museums.
Beginning in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro and passing by a “huaca” or sacred pre-Incan site en route to the Historic Center, you will explore the modern and colonial parts of Lima, also known as “The City of Kings.” There, you will walk along some of the city’s most historically significant streets, leading to the Plaza de Armas, where you will have time to photograph the magnificent colonial architecture surrounding it. You will also have the opportunity to explore an iconic structure that has served Lima’s residents for centuries and remains an important landmark. Then you will visit the remarkable Convent of Santo Domingo, a remarkable colonial structure.

Day 3
Cusco arrival & cusco city tour
When you arrive in Cusco, you will be greeted by our GOTOPERU representative and taken to your hotel. There, you will receive a briefing before spending the rest of the morning resting and acclimating to the altitude.
We will pick you up from your hotel at 1pm in the afternoon and begin our tour of the Imperial City of Cusco, a living example of the mix of Andean and Spanish cultures. Then we continue our journey by visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, which was built over the Koricancha, as well as the ancient Inca Palace and the Sun God’s main worship center. You will have time to enjoy these beautiful sights before we proceed to the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, which dominates the city with its military Inca architecture.
Finally, we visit the archaeological sites of Qenqo, Puca Pucará, and Tambomachay, which are located in the city’s north east. In the early evening, we return you to your hotel.
Day 4
Sacred valley tour + train to aguas calientes
Mirador of Taray is the first destination on our full-day excursion from Cusco that offers stunning views of the Andes and sacred Valley.’ Continue on to Pisac, where you’ll find a bustling market.
Take a tour of the archeological site and see out the agricultural terraces, Inca graves, and royal residences. Continue to Urubamba, where you can stop for a buffet lunch.
Head to Ollantaytambo, which was built to protect the Incas from possible invasions and to guard the entrance to Machu Picchu.
Train to Aguas Calientes / overnight at MachuPicchu pueblo.
Day 5
Machupicchu tour & return to cusco
This is the day you’ve been looking forward to! After an early breakfast at your hotel, you’ll board one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu to catch the sunrise. It is a truly extraordinary site that you will not want to miss! Your guide will take you on the entire tour, which will last approximately two hours. You will see all of the most important parts of Machu Picchu, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Condor, the Temple of Three Windows, the Sun Dial, the Quarry, and the Inca House. You’ll also learn about Machu Picchu’s three sectors: agricultural, residential, and religious.
Those who have pre-booked extra hikes up Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain will have time to enjoy the views on their own after your tour. After you’ve had your fill of the breathtaking views of Machu Picchu, take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). Depending on when your train departs, you may also have time to go shopping, sightseeing, or visit a museum or hot springs.
The train will return you to Ollantaytambo by following the beautiful Urubamba River. The canyon near Aguas Calientes is narrow, and the river has many beautiful sections of whitewater. If you look up high on the steep canyon wall, you can see Wiay Wayna from the train! When you arrive back in Ollantaytambo, your driver will meet you at the train station exit and drive you back to your Cusco hotel in our private vehicle. You should arrive at your hotel late in the afternoon.
Day 6
Vinicunca rainbow mountain tour
This program will take us to one of Cusco’s newest natural attractions, “The Rainbow Mountain.” We will pick you up from your Cusco hotel between 04:00 and 04:30 am, as the tour begins early in the morning. Two hours of car travel to the south will bring us to the Cusipata – Paucarpata district, where we will have breakfast. After breakfast, we will travel one hour by car to the checkpoint (Llaqto), where the hike will begin. The trek will last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, during which we will observe the landscape, flora, and fauna of the Andes, including llamas and alpacas. Upon reaching the viewpoint of Vinicunca or Montaa de Colores (5080 masl), our guide will provide a description of the mountain’s topography, ecosystem, and color; we will also have the opportunity to take photographs and admire the beautiful scenery. Then, we will return along the same path to the starting point of the trek (Llaqto), where our transport will be waiting to return us to Cusipata; here, we will enjoy a buffet lunch. After lunch, we will return to Cusco, where we will arrive between 4 and 5 in the afternoon. The final stop will be close to Cusco’s Plaza de Armas.
Day 7
Cusco departure
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have the remainder of the day to explore Cusco before being transferred to the airport for your flight back to Lima.
Day 8
Ballestas + huacachina oasis full day
A GOTOPERU representative will pick you up from your accommodation in Central Lima, Miraflores, San Isidro, or Barranco in the early morning and transfer you to the Lima bus station for your bus ride to Ica.
A staff member will pick you up at the Ica bus station at 07:30 and transport you to the port where the Ballestas Islands boat excursion will depart.
Ballestas Islands excursion at 08:00
10:00 a.m.: unrestricted time on Paracas Boulevard
Transfer from Paracas to Ica at 11 a.m.
12:30 pm: Arrival at the Huacachina Oasis, followed by lunch at leisure with a view of the oasis.
16:00 pm: Dune buggy trip and sandboarding in the sand dunes of Huacachina
Transportation to the Ica bus station at 18:30 Ica – Lima return bus ride
When you arrive at the Lima bus terminal, a GOTOPERU staff member will pick you up and transport you to your hotel.
