Day 1

Arrival in Bagdogra / Bagdogra – Gangtok (120 Kms / 05 Hrs.)

Upon arrival at the Bagdogra Airport, leave by road for Darjeeling. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Gangtok, the exotic capital city of Sikkim, is a Buddhist haven. In sync with the Zen philosophy that divinity can only make its way through clear and clean surroundings, Gangtok is an epitome of neatness and is one of the few such places in India. The stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped Mount Kanchenjunga, only add to the Gangokian environs. Offering the best tourist places in Gangtok, this place is also famous for its distinct cuisine, of which Momos and Kinema, are an excellent example. The rest of the day is free; you can indulge in the activities of your interest. Explore the lovely surroundings on your own. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2

Gangtok

After breakfast proceed for a day trip to Tsomgo Lake. Also known as Changu Lake, this glacial lake is a popular tourist attraction and is located on the road towards the Nathu La pass. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings here. The next visit is Baba Mandir. This shrine is built in the memory of a brave Indian soldier, Harbhajan Singh who died during the war near the Nathu La Pass. Return to Gangtok. The evening is free for shopping activities. Shop at the very popular M G Marg & Lal Bazar (foreign-style local market of Gangtok). You can buy Canvas Wall Hangings, Thangkas, Woollen Carpets, Traditional Folding Tables, Tea, Sikkimese Traditional Dress, Fruit Juice, etc. Overnight stay at hotel.

Optional tour to Nathula Pass (Alt 14000Ft.) on China Border can also be arranged (Except Mon, Tue) for Indian Nationals only at an additional cost.

Day 3

Gangtok – Darjeeling (115Kms/ 4 Hrs.)

After breakfast proceed for half day sightseeing tour of Gangtok covering Banjhakri Falls, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Flower show, Dro-dul Chorten & Institute of Tibetology. Afternoon drive to Darjeeling (7,100 ft.). On arrival check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 4

Darjeeling

Early morning, leave for viewing sunrise at Tiger Hill. This is a major attraction amongst the tourists. Have your breakfast and after breakfast visit Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (Closed on Thursday) to see some rare collections of high altitude Himalayan species like Snow leopard, clouded Leopard, Siberian Tiger, Red Panda and many rare mammals and birds in the natural surroundings.

Visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday) to see the priceless collection of mountaineering gears used by legendary climbers in the Himalayas. After that, we take you to the Tea garden on the undulating valleys for viewing the scenic landscape and tea plucking and processing.

Visit Ghoom Monaster & Batasia Loop. Also visit the Japanese Temple dedicated to Lord Buddha and constructed in 1972. If you are lucky, you may be able to witness the puja at the time of your visit. Nearby is also the Peace Pagoda which has 4 avatars of Buddha, in the postures of sleeping, sitting, standing and meditating. Don’t forget to visit Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center. It was established on 2 October 1959, after they followed Dalai Lama and escaped from Tibet. The production of Tibetan handicraft is the centre’s main activity.

Afternoon enjoy shopping on your own at the local market like Ghoom Monastery Market, Batasia Loop Market and Chowk Bazaar. You can buy Hand knitted items, Cheap electronics, Handicrafts & Souvenirs and Woolen clothes. Evening spend at the Mall. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5

Darjeeling – Bagdogra Airport (80 Kms / 3 Hrs.)

After Breakfast, check out from the Hotel. Transfer to the Airport for onward journey. Thanks you for your patronage and looks forward to serving you again in the near future.
